Brown Bag Lecture/Performance by Dr. Howard Wight Marshall, University of Missouri. Accompanied by UIS Music Faculty member Sharon Graf and by members of UIS Old Time Jam  including Erich Schroeder and Mark Mathewson.

 

 

Prof. Howard Wight Marshall is the author of two books on Missouri Old Time Fiddle Music:  Play Me Something Quick and Devilish: Old-Time Fiddlers in Missouri and Fiddler's Dream:  Old-Time, Swing, and Bluegrass Fiddling in Twentieth Century Missouri.  Transcriptions of fiddle tunes for both volumes were written by Sharon Graf, who will also perform in the brown bag.
