The GIS Lab at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) will host a virtual GIS workshop on Saturday 4/24/2021 from 9AM-12PM. Please go to http://www.uis.edu/gis/workshop/ for more information about the workshop and the registration process. Please note that:
- This GIS workshop will be held remotely in the format of a synchronous Zoom session.
- The theme of the workshop is “Mapping COVID-19 Using ArcGIS Pro” and this workshop is geared toward beginners with little to no prior knowledge of GIS.
- This virtual workshop contains hands-on demonstrations and tutorials. To follow hands-on tutorials in this workshop, you need to have ESRI ArcGIS Pro installed on your computer prior to the event. Please refer to the information on the workshop webpage on how you can get a copy of the software.
- Dual monitors are highly recommended for you to simultaneously watch the demonstrations and follow the steps. If you don’t have two monitors but have another device (tablet or laptop) with a medium to large sized screen, try using the smaller device as your video conference connection and your larger device (laptop or desktop) to follow the hands-on demo. Don’t use your cellphone screen – it likely will not be big enough.
